I have a similar question, and no answer to the above query. About 7 years ago we had a challenge to TILLA by Ilsa Koehn (Greenwillow, c1981). We followed our policy, and the end decision of the committee was to transfer the book to the high school. Our school was then 6-8 gr., and I agreed that the subject matter of the book might be too mature for some 6th graders, altho overall i felt the book was OK for our readers. The high school principal refused to accept the book, so it is still in my library office shelves. It is not something I spend a great deal of time thinking about, but I have wondered if I should not quietly slip it back on the shelves and see what happens. Any comments?
