This is forwarded from someone who is about to subscribe to LM_NET. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Wed, 7 Sep 1994 14:05:01 -0500 From: Elsie Husom <0181dm@InforMNs.k12.MN.US> To: mike@SUVM.SYR.EDU Our district is is in the early stages of planning a technology magnet school for grades 6 through 9 which would be opening in the fall of 1996. We are looking for models of such schools around the country that we might visit or at least contact for ideas on what works and what doesn't. Do you know of any such schools? We are looking for schools that are different - schools in which technology is fully integrated as a learning tool in all subject areas and has made possible some significant changes in the structure, the curriculum, and the teaching/learning modes. This school would have an inclusive student population, but we are also interested in looking at schools which may focus on the at-risk student and/or the gifted and talented. We are also interested at this time in how students and teachers were selected for the school if it is a new school. What selection criteria did you use for students and for teachers? What was the process by which selection was made.
