I am hoping to locate a source for an atlas we have used in our Media
Center since it was barely a Library.

When I first came here, The School and Library Atlas for 1970 was almost
the only atlas in the Library. When I tried to update it for 1980, I
contacted The School and Library Publishing Company (I think it was
called that, then) in (again, I think) Denver. They advised me that the
new edition was of such poor quality they refused to sell it. However, a
year or so later, they sent info on the atlas in its new edition. We
purchased it and found it to be satisfactory: its size, 16x22 in, makes
it easy for all our students to use. The publisher for this edition was
based in Sycamore, IL.

After the 1990 census, I tried to locate them again but was
unsuccessful. Without a better address, letters were returned. The
phone company didn't list them. Because the editor was listed as being a
professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Illinois, I
tried there, also to no avail.

Because the cover indicates that they have published since 1932, I
believe they are out there, somewhere.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.
