When I was fortunate enough to be in Cora Paul Bomar's School Library
Management course at UNC-G, she had a marvelous observation on weeding that
has stood the test of time.  I think her comment was in almost these exact
words.
 
"When a library book has lived a long and useful life, it deserves a decent
burial."
