Ihave seen parallels between the thinking in the library weeding process and administrative hiring and/or firing of teachers. Yes, it is a professional task. I put all "deselected" books in a professional library room with clear markings and invite teachers to take what they can find any use for. It seems to relieve me of some of the criticism.
