There is an extension of the deadline for applications for the following position: The Centralia R-6 School District has an opening in the area of an Educational Technology Coordinator. BASIC FUNCTION To incorporate current technology, both instructional and electronic, into the school system as defined by the administration and school board. Responsibilities include evaluating, installing and supporting new technology as well as educating users. This position requires a self-motivated person with excellent teaching skills, a thorough knowledge of technology, and expertise in computer hardware/software. JOB DESCRIPTION - Assist in selection of technology that best meets the needs of the district and educators - Integrate educational technology into current curriculums and evaluate new systems. This includes computers, word processors, overhead displays, laser disk, video, CD_ROM, multimedia, etc. - Provide training on computers and software applications such as DOS, Windows, Novell, Works, Word Perfect, etc. - Provide direct technical assistance and product support to users - Act as a liason between school district and industry - Maintain inventories of technological resources for school system. Ensure schools are using software legally. - Review literature, attend conferences, test products, and meet with vendors in order to keep current on new technology available QUALIFICATIONS A bachelor's degree in education or educational technology or an equivalent from which appropriate knowledge can be acquired. Two years' experience in public or private education including at least two years' recent experience in microcomputer hardware/software applications or applications programming.
