Re: ELIMINATION OF GA. LMS UPDATE

Thanks to those of you who sent your letters in to the Ga. Dept. of
Ed. and other parties concerning the recently (AND DEFEATED!)
proposal to revise the Personnel Rule that would eliminate various
jog titles...including that of media specialist.  I talked with
Georgia Library Media Association's office in Atlanta Friday and
received word that the state school superintendent had dropped the
proposal due to all the negative response.  However, the state bd. of
ed. went ahead and voted NO and said they did not want the issue to
come up again.
