A Cosgrove Serendipity book Challenged!

A parent has filed a citizen's protest of the book Squabbles by Stephen
Cosgrove.  It is part of his Serendipity series.

If you are familiar with this title, and could offer any support, please
e-mail to me personally.  (The objection seems to be that the book deals with
wife and child beating, and that elementary children should not be made aware
that such things happen in society.)

I have not been through a book protest before and would also appreciate any
advice that any of you who have experienced a protest could give me--perhaps
you could send this separately from any statement of support for the book.
