I have just read an article entitled "Teachers Aid" in the March, 1995 issue of Internet World by Robert Doty. I am disapointed that the editor would have published this artice which contains incorrect and misleading information. First the article contains a long list of states which the author claims provide Internet access to all teachers in those states, and Georgia is listed. Unfortunately, Georgia teachers do no have access to the Internet at his time. Second, the author states that teachers can find "thousands of journal articles" on various education topics suggesting that these articles are available online full text. Third, the article describes, with arrogance, several instances where Florida school librarians had to be enlightened by the author to the fact that they had Internet access. The author was serving as a teaching intern when he supposedly had these experiences, and his message suggests that he believes many teachers could gain Internet access if only they had the information which he is providing. Please read this article and form your own opinion. Should you wish to express your thoughts to the editor, please address your comments to Michael Neubarth as neubarth@mecklermedia.com . Donna Oliver
