The student is probably holding down the Shift and/or Control key while
starting the computer. This bypasses  "Extensions" and therefore, At
Ease.We've had kids lean on the keyboard and do this by accident, but the
ones who are familiar with MAC commands know that they can bypass
"Extensions" this way. Too bad, ignorance was bliss.
