Mac 575's - need advice

Dear Colleagues,
     We have been having problems at our school, and throughout
our school district, with some Mac 575's that were purchased last
year.  According to our technician who services our computers
county-wide, they have had power supplies going dead, color
fading and CD Rom problems.
     Last week I received an attractive little ad from Macintosh
for groups of 575's that can be purchased at wonderful savings.
Do you suppose they are trying to unload these things?  I need
more Mac's in the LMC for students to operate the many CD's we
have bought, but I would like your opinions on what Mac models to
purchase.
