I've been a public librarian & an academic librarian and believe me the
image and the sterotypes (I can't spell tonight!!!) are just as bad and
firmly embedded in the minds of the public as they are in the school
culture..though come to think of it, I get more respect from my teachers
than I ever did from patrons when I worked reference in a busy urban
public library!
