I don't know if anybody does this at a school level, but a public library in
Myrtle Beach 'checks out' jigsaw puzzles on the honor code system. There are
no due dates and no bar codes. The patron is allowed to take a jigsaw puzzle
(or maybe a few - I forgot to ask about that) home for as long as they like.
This has worked extremely well for them, because their patrons (even visitors
just passing through) end up bringing back the original and donating more.
They had so many donated that they had to send boxes of them to another library
What do you think of this idea? Jigsaw puzzles are wonderful for thinking
and (of course) cover all subject areas. If you have any comments you can send
them to my e-mail unless most of you think this is a possibility.
