Block Schedule Strategies

Hi Netters!
    Our high school (grades 9-12) will implement the the first step
in a block schedule.  We currently are on a six period day, but will
now combine 3rd and 4th periods.  If you have any information or
could tell me sources which might assist us.  One major concern is
the readjustment of teaching strategies.  Any help will be greatly
appreciated!
