Sadie Hawkins Day

Sadie Hawkin's Day was indeed from Lil Abner.  I do not remember anything
about Sadie H. herself, however, even in the cartoon.  And I do not know
whether Al Capp was the originator of Sadie and her day or if he
"borrowed" her from somewhere else.  My feeling, unproved, is that he
invented her and her day!
