AASL Frances Henne Award Application Available

Applications for the 1996 Frances Henne Award, sponsored by AASL and the RR Bow
ker Company, are available from the AASL Office.  The Award enables one school
library media specialist to attend the ALA Annual Conference in New York City,
July 4-10, 1996.  A grant of $1,250 will be given to a school library media spe
cialist who has demonstrated leadership qualities in working with students, tea
chers and administrators.  Applicants must be members of ALA and AASL and curre
ntly employed as a school library media specialist at the building level and ha
ve from 1-5 years experience as school library media specialist.  And this shou
ld be the applicant's first ALA Annual Conference or AASL National Conference.
