Re: Ellis Island--Personal stories?

I don't have a real "story" about an experience, but my father picked up
a booklet from a family reunion which claimed Ellis Island was originally
owned by our ancestor whose last name Ellis.  He farmed on it.  I believe
the government bought the property,not seized it.  I could find out more
from my father.
