GEN: ? on MAT-6

I am doing research on alternative teacher education. In doing so, I came
across a study on Houston's ATE program.  The program was tested by
giving students the MAT-6. My question is: What does MAT-6 stand for?  I
assume it is Minnesota or Mass. aptitude test, but I don't know which,
and I don't know the significance of the 6.
