I need help concerning my school's account with Prodigy. I am the
registered user and they are holding me personally liable for use after the
prepaid term ended. I have always had problems with them and today the rude
and uncooperative billing manager told me that I could "take it wherever"
but she was not going to help me. The school prepaid for the account
through Dec. 1 '95 and they are charging me for the months since then,
stating it was used in Feb. at 10PM for about 1 hour. After repeatedly
waiting and explaining this matter this morning, they told me that the
school was given a few months "grace period" since it didn't renew in Dec.
and that this use was my responsibility. The previous year they
disconnected our account during the school year when we had not renewed
right away. They gave us "credit" during the summer when the students could
not use it. We have not even used it during the prepaid for term and they
want me to pay for the Feb. connect! I feel the school (me) should not be
liable for this since they state that unless we renew we will be turned off
and we believed that the account was invalid Dec. 1. Does anyone know of
any recourse I have?
