Hi! My school district is considering switching our automation program to Alexandria. As we do that we would like to switch from Appletalk to Ethernet. What advice can you provide me with? I currently have 6 Macintoshs as part of my library network, and am looking for a cost effective way to switch them to Ethernet. What success have people had by wiring them together in a straight line? Or is is better to use a hub? Has anyone put them on a straight line and then incorporated their machines into a building wide network? I need to make wise decisions but am receiving a great deal of conflicting advice about the ways to solve the problem. Also I would appreciate positive and negative comments about Alexandria from the people who are actively using the program? It appears to have some excellent features but then I don't use it daily. Thanks so much!
