Arnold High School >Wiesbaden Germany >stafford@email.wiesbaden.army.mil > In my search for doctoral programs, I found that Information Specialist reflects a degree in Information Sciences and Systems. The degree focuses on creating, organizing, storing & accessing organized files of information. So far so good. BUT the courses are all computer related including various languages, hardware, software and analysis. I don't think we can call ourselves information specialists. That title is already taken. I for one have been a librarian for 13 years and plan to keep my library with it's various media and computer accesses. ------------------------------------- Name: Mary Beckelhimer Winfield High School librarian (304)586-3601 E-mail: mbeckelh@access.k12.wv.us (Mary Beckelhimer) Date: 02/27/96 Time: 12:01:38 This message was sent by Chameleon -------------------------------------
