SEC: Author visits

As a part of our continuing effort to encourage reading by our high school 
students, we
would like to invite an author for a visit.  Do any netters have recommendations, 
either
positive or negative, of authors who have visited their schools?  We are 
particularlu
interested in hearing from those of you in the Chicago area who have had successful
visits from an author living near you.  Obviously, we'd like to cut down on travel 
expenses
as much as possible.
