Dear LM_Netters:

I'd like to say thank you to the many people who responded to
my question. Here are some of the responses.
Thank you, as always, for your assistance.

You can find out a great deal of information on books that have
been challenged from the American Library Association's Office of
Intellectual Freedom. They keep a database of book challenges and
should be able to help you. The ALA toll-free number is
800/545-2433. Also, your state library association probably has an
intellectual Freedom Committee that has some information
on book challenges in that state. Good
Luck.

The "Banned Books Week '93" resource book from ALA Has this to say
about the titles you have mentioned:
Rumble Fish - Challenged at the Poca Middle School in Charleston,
W.V because the book is too frank.
Fallen Angels - Challenged in the Bluffton,Oh schools (1990) because of
its use of profane language. Restricted as supplemental classroom
material in the Jackson, Ga high school(1992) because of undesirable
language and sensitive material.
