I am doing a research paper for a graduate class in Administration of the School Media Center. I have been reading a lot of material on the "charge to media specialists to actively use their instructional consultant role and be leaders in the challenge to integrate information skills instruction into the classroom." It seems Information literacy is the hot topic everywhere. I would like to hear from some of you. I see so many hard working media specialists. 1. Do you plan with teachers? 2. How are you teaching "information literacy"? 3. What are the problems you encounter? 4. Do you feel trained to accomplish the leadership role in this area? Thanks for any comments. I hope to confirm my opinion that most media specialists take this very seriously.
