Hello John and LM_NET, Thank you for your excellent comments and observations! Serving our students means that I _do_ carry _all_ points of view. Agreed! But what I was referring to was addressing the way people on LM_NET use this forum. On LM_NET we are not here to discuss the merits or failings of certain religions, but to make use of this powerful and exciting resource, LM_NET to do our job more effectively. In the process of using it we need to be careful not to make disparaging statements toward religious beliefs. This can be difficult at times, because the line between opinion and fact is very blurry, and it is easy to unintentionally go too far, not through maliciousness, but through lack of knowledge, bad habit, or through an inability to effectively communicate in writing one's complex and subtle thoughts, nuances and ideas. I have been impressed with the general caliber of the discussion thus far, but felt that it was halpful to post a reminder about the fact that we are treading in a potentialy explosive area, religious beliefs.
