The City of Woburn, MA, Public Schools is advertising for the position of
Educational Technology Director, a new position.  Written letters of
application, along with transcripts, certification, and three letters of
recommendation should be sent Superintendent Carl R. Batchelder, Woburn
Public Schools Administration Offices, 55 Locust St., Woburn, MA 01801, by
4:00 P.M. on 14 June 1996.  Questions may be addressed to Assistant
Superintendent for Curriculum, Dr. Louise Mary Nolan, e-mail
LMN7414@aol.com. The Educational Technology Director would report to Dr.
Nolan. The work year would be 220 days, with a salary to be negotiated
between $50,000 and $55,000. Qualifications: Demonstrated successful
teaching experience; successful teaching experience in helping students
learn with technology; technical expertise in using Apple II, Macintosh,
IBM, and IBM compatible systems; Massachusetts certification in an area of
specialization and in technology education; knowledge of library science
and program development in technology education.  Any of the above
qualifications may be waived at the discretion of the Superintendent.

        Woburn is a city of about 35,000 twelve miles west of Boston. There
are 6 elementary schools, 2 middle schools (grades 6-8), one high school of
approximately 1,100 students. The system is in the final stages of
developing a technology plan, and one of the responsibilities of the
Technology Director will be to assist in developing, implementing, and
monitoring the district-wide technology plan.
