Hello to all!
Are any of you short story buffs able to identify and name the
author of and/or a possible source for a short story called "The Dinner
Party"? A teacher at my school says it is about a couple arguing over
whether men or women have more self control. Evidently during their
dinner, a servant realizes a cobra is loose in the house and entices it to
the porch with a bowl of milk. The man reveals that he knew about the
cobra by observing the servant's actions; the woman says she knew because
the cobra slithered over her foot.
Does this sound familiar to any one?
