TARGET: ELEM: Year-Long Construction Unit

Dear netters:

My school will be living within a construction zone for fourteen months,
including all of 1997-98, during the building of our new school.  The new
building will be on the current site.  The fence line will be as close as
five feet to some classrooms.

I would like to create some type of year-long construction or building unit
to go along with the noise and dirt and dust and confusion.....   to help
the teachers deal with the inconveniences that will surely occur.

Has anyone done anything similar.

As always, I appreciate the input.
