TARGET: new facility plans

Hello!  I am a Library Science student at Longwood College.  I
am presently working as a media specialist in Fluvanna County
in a 2-5 elementary school.  We are planning a new library
facility to be built on this site within five years.  At that
time, the new library will serve some 1500 K-5 students.  As we
are currently in the planning stages, I would like to know what
things you consider "musts" that we should definitely include
and what we should definitely NOT do in this new center.  We
want to plan carefully so that we will be able to integrate
future and emerging technology easily as it comes available
down the road.  What things should we do to insure that this
will happen?  I am very interested in hearing your ideas and
your own experiences with similar situations.  Please send me a
