I used clear plastic pockets with adhesive on the back and book cards to
ID each computer.

On the top of the book card I wrote the make, model, serial #, county ID
#.
On the lines I wrote the software that had been loaded and the date....

This way I had a QUICK reference if something went wrong. Serial numbers
always being in an awkward place.....
AND I had a list of the software on that particular machine....
