Just in case any of you are looking for an online class geared to internet use and web design, I have been associated with one such class through Jersey City State College. The class "Using the Internet in Education" is appropriate for librarians: techie or otherwise. You do not have to live in NJ to take the class as it never meets. Half the semester is devoted to finding educational resources and learning to use various internet applications. The second half is a beginner's course in building a webpage. Prereqs include a reliable internet service provider, computer access and some basic computer knowledge. MAC and IBM platforms are equally welcome. For more information contact http://conted4.jcstate.edu This is their continuing education department homepage. They have asked me to help spread the word about this class offering.
