I am thankful every day that the bottom fell out of the economy and my husband's business in Houston 10 years ago. (If it hadn't been for the necessity of my working I might never have found my career.) I had taught in the 60s before my children were born and needed a career where I could use my teaching background, but knew I would never be able to handle all the changes in the field. I am a book lover through and through and when I found that I could get my masters in library scinec by going to school on Saturdays, I fell in love with the whole idea. I only worried that I wounln't like the job as much as I did graduate school. What a thrill to find out how I loved being a librarian and I actually got paid to do it (as opposed to paying to go to school.) I am sure that my job is the best in the school. I make the rules (very flixible ones) and any student who does not comply simply does not get to be here. It doesn't happen often that I have to use that power. I am the only one in school who can do this. What a great job. I love the books, the kids and most teachers! ********************************************************* * Pat Sebastian Alief I.S.D. * * Librarian 6900 Turtlewood * * Owens Intermediate Houston, TX 77072 * * pgs@tenet.edu Phone: 713-983-8466 * *********************************************************
