Dear Netters, I am starting my first media specialist position in a library where the previous media specialist subscribed to "Library Talk" and "Booklinks", but not to "School Library Journal." This is new for me since when I worked as a library secretary, the media specialist I worked for used SLJ exclusively. My new school has almost 800 students and I will be doing a lot of purchasing. I like Library Talk and Booklinks and will also have access to the Internet including the Booklist web site. I do not want to just add SLJ without dropping either Booklinks or Library Talk. I do not know if the teachers are also using Booklinks. I also have a part time Media Specialist working with me, but she is currently unavailable. The Media specialist I am replacing was in charge of submitting the subscription list and primarily in charge of ordering materials. Please send your personal opinions about whether I should make changes to my subscription order before I submit the order on July 11. Thanks in advance!
