where do we come from?

Greetings and salutations ~

I am about as new to the field as they come.  I have had no education
experience (classes, practice), so I have really had to hurry up and get with
the program.  After my undergraduate work (and for all time) I knew that I
loved books and reading and language, but I wasn't sure where my degree in
English and my biblio-fetish would take me.  I ended up as the assistant
manager of a discount bookstore for one year and a couple of months.  The
books and people I loved, the retail and managerial ends was for the birds.
 After deciding that I was going to need a life change (at 23 years old) my
mom suggested that with a job in a library I couldn't go wrong.  She had
never been so right!  I knew right away once I started the program at the U.
of RI that school media certification program was exactly what I was supposed
to do with my life.  I can't think of anything that I would rather do with
myself.  I have just been hired at an elementary school and I am purely
joyous.  This is where I came from.
