For all you newbies who have been asking: I've been asked to teach a class at the local university of LibSci. I was looking fro a good 'topic' and came across a book called _Elementary School Librarian's Survival Guide_. It covers physical set up of library space, successful discipline, reading promotions, running special programs, storytimes, book talks & library skills, building support from admin, staff, community & parents, budgeting, selection policies, censorship & copyright, keeping up with new materials and surviving technology, inventory & weeding and avoidiing burnout!!! I believe I am going to use it as a text for my course and see how it comes. It is available through amazon.com and published by Center for Applied Research in Education, Career & Personal Development, West Nyack, NY 10995 ISBN 0-87628-297-4 Best! Slainte!
