Fellow LM_NETTERS,
This Spring, our system has begun to bar code all fixed asset items
(items worth $100.00 and all furniture). We have been provided the program
(Inventory Plus) and database to use, plus the bar codes and the mylar
labels. Some in our county are ready (having cleaned-up our databases) to
affix the labels--BUT, we do not have the substance to "paint" over the bar
code and mylar labels that will harden and keep little (and big) fingers
from peeling the bar codes off the items. We were told by our pilot school
(InvPlus in place for two years) to buy a product called "Envirotek Lite,
Hi Gloss". It seems that this product may no longer be being manufactured.
At least, we cannot locate it in our area (Harnett County, North
Carolina).
Now, my question: Do any of you know of this product? Usually
found in the crafts section of a store. Qualities: Clear, hi-gloss,
hardens quickly, easy-to-apply, CANNOT remove bar code, except with a
chisel!. OR -- Next Question -- Do you have a suggestion about a product
that could be used in its place that will serve the same purpose?
Any help will be appreciated -- as we are not willing to continue
this venture until the "last" protective covering can be applied!!!
