8-10 : Animal Farm

Project: Animal Farm

Date:  beginning May,1997
       ending June, 1997  - actual dates to be negotiated with
                              participants.

Purpose:  Students will further their understanding and
appreciation of the novel Animal Farm through on-line discussion
and critical analysis with their peers around the world.

Subject:  Language Arts, Writing, Literature, Politics

Grade: Years 8 to 10, secondary.

Summary:  Participation in this project will be open to classes which
are studying Orwell's Animal Farm, as well as interested individual
students.  All participants will subscribe to an Animal Farm mailing
list to which discussion topics will be posted at regular intervals
for the duration of the project.  All groups participating will commit
to contributing to the discussion of all topics, issues raised.
