In response to Mike's suggestion about weeding older space/astronomy titles..... 1) I suggest keeping one or two of the better titles (if shelf space permits) for retrospective work. 2) I highly recommend that all teachers and LMSs visit their state/regional NASA Educator Resource Center. The collections at the centers include materials in all formats (print, video, computer programs, slides, etc.) and go from the beginning of flight to the current day. All centers have different "rules," so I suggest contacting your local center and finding out what they have by way of materials and services. In addition, the ERC coordinator can show you many wonderful net sites for both reference and use with students. 3) If you are near one of the regional centers, you may be able to schedule a class trip to visit them. (Sorry, the state centers are not set up for class trips.) I have visited Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt MD and Langley Research Center/Virginaia Air & Space Museum in Hampton Roads, VA; both have wonderful displays (some are interactive) that students of all ages will enjoy. I am the coordinator for the center that serves NJ and eastern PA. If anyone needs the name, location, and phone number of your local center, please contact me with your city and state. I have my list of centers at home and at work, so either email address is fine. Barbara Barbara R.
