Ruth, I can only tell you what I do with my cache to save space on my small Macintosh hard drive. I use Navigator 2.02 also, so I don't know if you can do the same thing. I go into the System folder, then into Preferences, and then to the Netscape folder. Once I find the cache file, I put it into the trash and empty it. I also save space by trashing the global history file. Evidently the program rebuilds new files the next time you use it.
