Dear fellow librarians: Would any of you explain to me what Z39.50 is? I wanted to find a complete copy of an article 'The Net and Z39.50: Toward a Virtual Union Catalog' that is listed on the Web site for Computers in Libraries: http://www.infotoday.com/cilmag/ciltop.htm but I haven't as of yet, and now I am out of school for Thanksgiving Vacation. I know that SIRS Mandarins uses Z39.50 in conjuction with Windows NT but I would like to know just what is Z39.50. Thank you. Sally A.
