Getting the full-text copy of an article is almost > the same thing as copying the article on a copier. > > unless it is a graphic image of the actual page, i would cite the site. i worked with the senior english teacher with his research classes and he felt that the actual source should be noted. for example, if a student used a sirs article, his bibliography should note that that was were the article came from. he didn't mind students using sirs, but he wanted the students to realize that it was packaged and that they had not come across it using various journal indices. i had ebsco's academic abstracts in my high school library and did try the full text, but it was not the article--no charts, graphs, etc. if ebscohost is the same, i think it should be listed as the site in the citation. perhaps overly fussy, but in the one semester course we had students writing papers in excess of 30 pages and ones that would receive high grades in upper-level college courses. awareness and precision are very useful tools. -- Edward W.
