Mary has got it spot on on this one. The funeral is a private affair,
family and guests only. President Clinton could only attend if he recieved
as personal invitation, but, given Diana's status as the ex-wife of the
heir to the throne, it would not be seen as the done thing diplomatically
for him to accept.There is no objection to hillary attending as she has no
official (political) status.

As for the other question of Diana's last name, royalty do not have them -
they are referred to by their title. Although her official title changed
after the divorce from The Princess of Wales to Diana, Princess of Wales,
she retained a royal title and therefore is referred to by that title.
