Dear LM_NET Colleagues,

The message that our LM_NET member just forwarded to the group was NOT
originally posted to LM_NET. It only appeared here because the member
forwarded it to us with their complaint.

However, I do believe that a highly unethical commercial e-mail
mass-mailer has been "harvesting" addresses from those who post to LM_NET
(along with members of thousands of other groups), and many of us may have
received the message individually. LM_NET has no control over this sort of
activity.

The only way that we will be able to put a stop to such intrusions of our
privacy is through laws which offer stiff penalties to purveyors of such
trash! As it is now, we are fairly effective at keeping it off of LM_NET,
but it is extremely difficult to filter such mail from our personal
mailboxes.

Write your elected representatives about this issue!
