Many people have asked me to share the information I received on paperback
vendors...

I've always had supergood luck with Story House for prebound books
and they have a paperback catalog under the name BKS. I'm pretty sure that
the service and selection would be good from BKS. Sorry, I'm at home, so I
don't have an 800 number.
-------------------
If you don't care about cataloging, use Ingram (800-937-5300) which gives a
40% discount to school libraries on almost all paperbacks.

If you care about cataloging, use Mackin Book Co.(800-245-9540) which will
buy any book and catalog it for you. They will do MARC records, too. They
are efficient, careful, on time, and they seem to have good cataloging. So
far, I am pleased with them though I've only used them for a year. Mackin
doesn't supply a catalog, as they'll get any book in print. To find books
they can supply, I look the titles up on the Internet at www.amazon.com.
That way, I know whether the book is readily available in a reasonably
priced paperback or not. Amazon.com itself is a good source for books that
you are in a hurry to get. Buy them with your own credit card and charge
your school afterward, if they'll let you.

--------------------
Have you tried Interstate Periodicals from Madison, WI. 608-2713600 (I think)

Sun Prairie, WI 53590

If you know which titles you wish to order, try a local bookstore! I
send mine a list of the paperbacks I want to order. I get them in about
three weeks with a 20% discount and no shipping charges.
-------------------
Check to see if youhave a local bookstore who will work with your
school. I've used amazon.com for aid in selection and knowing what is in
paperback, and then prepaa list, taken it to a local bookseller who
gives me a 15% discount and doesn't charge shipping.
-------------------
Ingram has everything in print. They're very efficient and fast.
-------------------
And the two I mentioned in my TARGET were
        AKJ 800-922-6066
        Bookmen (800) 328-8411
Both are very easy to work with but smaller than what I want.
------------------
Thanks for all of your help!
