My library is being renovated and my headmaster wants us to have small wheels on the bottoms of several bookcases that will be in the middle of the room (you know--the kind that are about five feet high, with shelves for books on either side--island bookshelves, I guess you call them?) He feels that these wheels will add "flexibility." I am concerned that the wheels will make dents in the carpet-- and we would have to take most of the books off the bookcases before moving them in any case--wheels or no wheels--so I don't see a benefit. I would appreciate your feedback on this issue. And thanks to the person who posted the HIT on library renovation tips as well as to all the people who contributed to it! I loved the tip about not labelling supply boxes "supplies." Thanks in advance.
