I have a couple of English teachers asking me for help finding literature by *setting* and I am hoping some of you can help. The project they're working on involves students reading a novel, a play, and poetry that all illustrate/epitomize/depict the life/culture of a particular decade in American history, like _Great Gatsby_ for the 20s or _Grapes of Wrath_ for the 30s. Help! We're having lots of trouble with drama for the 70s and 80s (too much sex and raw language for a class assignment, on the whole), but would welcome suggestions for any decade, any genre. I will post a hit. Would love references to any lists you are aware of that are arranged by *setting* rather than date of publication. Thanks in advance for your ever-wonderful help.
