Target : Middle: Teen vs. Seventeen?

Since it is still summer, and school (at least in New England) is still
several weeks away, I hope you will have time for some thoughts on
Seventeen and/or Teen.

My question:  If you HAD to get rid of one of the magazines, which would
it be and why?  Please keep the middle school level (6-8) in mind.

Also, have you found any good magazines that the students will actually
read to replace either of these?  I tried New Moon and that fell flat.  I
am thinking of adding Girls Life, which seems very good, but unfortunately
it comes out only six times a year and it may be a bit young for eighth
graders.
