McKenney--the heroine of Ruth McKenney's _My Sister Eileen_--are killed
in a car accident in El Centro, California.

55 years ago (1943), Beatrix Potter, creator of Peter Rabbit, Jeremy
Fisher, Jemima Puddle-Duck, Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, and others, dies in
Sawrey, Lancashire.

22 years ago (1976), Martin Luis Guzman dies in Mexico City. (Pending
