********************************************** Happy new year to all. I've begun the new year by having fifth graders retell their favorite story or legend from folklore or mythology. Today a child came with a story about a boy name Manuel winning the hand of a princess by having help from an insect identifying the skin from which a tambourine head was replaced. I've asked for a source but in true folk style this one seems elusive. Another child claims to have heard it too. Does anyone know this one? Many thanks, Paula V.
