Dear LM-NET members: I will be presenting a newly revised policy on the selection of materials for school library materials to our School Board this evening. I have just received a message from my Assistant Superintendent that one of the Board members wants parents to be involved in the actual selection of library materials. This is not the direction that I took in the policy, and to be perfectly honest, it is not a direction that I wish to pursue. However, I thought I should see if others are doing this. If you involve parents directly in the selection of library materials, I would love to hear from you as to how you do so and if it is successful. Any information pro or con that you could share with me before this evening would be greatly appreciated! Please respond directly to me at kgoebel@pen.k12.va.us If there is interest, I will post a hit. TIA! ======================================================================== Karen T.
